Katelyn is a she-means-style-with-20-years of experience behind the chair. She cares about her clients and takes pride in creating tailored looks. Hair is her one tool to create joy and empowerment. From a try-on upbrief to dye and detox, she handles all textures and lengths with ease, ensuring every guest leaves feeling confident and cared for. Her no-rush, welcoming approach makes the barber chair a safe and comfortable space for connection and conversation. It’s family, friendship, and music that drives her — it’s her passion, and she’s grateful to do what she loves every day.

Stylist
Emily is a creative stylist who specializes in fades, taper fades, simple designs, dry cutting for women’s hair, and children’s cuts. She is known for her attention to detail and her ability to create clean, personalized styles that help clients feel confident and refreshed. Emily enjoys working with a variety of textures and takes pride in making every guest feel comfortable in her chair. Outside the salon, she enjoys sewing, drawing, painting, furniture restoration, photography, gardening, baking, and raising farm animals. A devoted dog lover, Emily believes that God is the giver of all things good and beautiful and strives to live each day appreciating life as a gift.
Erica
Stylist
Erica has been cutting hair for 20 years, including the last 12 years at Hair HQ. A lifelong resident of the Grand Rapids area, she is known for her consistency, skill, and warm personality. Erica enjoys working with clients of all ages and takes pride in helping each person leave feeling confident.
Vickie
Owner & Stylist
Vickie brings decades of experience to Hair HQ, with a passion for hairstyling that began during the original mullet era. A dedicated Christian woman with strong family values, Vickie is committed to serving the entire community. She offers personalized services for homebound and bedridden clients and volunteers weekly at Mary Free Bed Hospital.

Karissa
Receptionist
Karissa is the friendly face who helps keep Hair HQ running smoothly. As a sophomore in high school, she balances school with her role at the shop. She is actively involved in competitive dance and is a member of her high school varsity dance team. When she’s not at school or the shop, Karissa enjoys youth group, spending time with family, and being with friends.
